Cricket Support For Local Schools
Cheam CC can support local schools with cricket-related teaching programmes, curriculum lesson support, school open days, access to club facilities and signposting into club cricket opportunities.
The aim is to help more children experience cricket in a welcoming, practical and well-supported environment, whether they are new to the game or already playing at school.
How Cheam CC Can Support Schools

Girls Cricket Outreach
​
Cheam CC actively supports girls cricket in schools in and around Sutton, Cheam, Banstead, Worcester Park and Ewell. We can provide coaching-led taster sessions at your school, advice on setting up girls-only cricket activities and a direct pathway into the club's girls junior cricket section.

Girls who take part in school sessions can be signposted towards the club's junior girls training, which runs on Friday evenings. Bursaries are available for families who need financial support.
Boys Cricket Outreach
​
We support boys cricket in local schools through taster sessions, curriculum support and open day appearances. Cheam CC has active junior boys teams from Under 9 through to Under 17, all playing competitive cricket in Surrey.

Boys taking part in school cricket sessions can be introduced to the club's junior training pathway, with age-group teams available from the start of the season.
Whole-School Cricket Support
​
We offer whole-school and mixed-group cricket sessions designed for PE lessons and after-school activities. Sessions are structured for all abilities, encouraging participation from children who may not have tried cricket before.

Schools in the Sutton borough and surrounding areas including Cheam, Banstead and Worcester Park can contact us to discuss a timetabled cricket programme.
Facilities Access
​
Schools looking for access to outdoor cricket facilities can use Cheam CC's ground at Peaches Close, Cheam, subject to availability and agreement.
​
All school visits to the ground must comply with our safeguarding policy. A named responsible adult from the school must accompany any visit and confirm safeguarding arrangements in advance.

Camps, Winter Programmes & Bursaries
​
Cheam CC runs school holiday cricket camps, including half-term and summer camps, for juniors aged 7-15. Schools can help promote these to families and students as an extension of their cricket provision.

Bursaries are available for families who need financial support to access camps and club membership. Schools identifying children who would benefit from reduced-cost places can refer families directly to the club.
